FAQ Commercial License
License & Usage
Am I allowed to modify the STL files?
Yes, minor technical adjustments for your own printer or special customer requirements are allowed.
The following are not allowed:
- Modification with the aim of publishing the design as one's own.
- Removing or manipulating logos or watermarks
- publishing modified files
Am I allowed to share or sell the STL files?
No.
The files may not be shared, sold, or uploaded to other platforms – even for free.
Use is permitted only for the licensed company .
What happens if I cancel my subscription?
Your commercial use ends immediately after cancellation.
You may:
- Do not sell any more parts
- no longer use or save files
You need to:
- Delete all files
- confirm the use in writing (according to the license agreement)
Is there a minimum contract term?
No.
Membership is monthly and can be cancelled at any time.
The license is only valid as long as the subscription is active.
How does it work with B2B customers? Am I allowed to supply other shops?
Yes, you are allowed to supply other shops – but only with the extended B2B license .
There are two license levels:
- Commercial License – 20 USD/month
This license allows you to sell directly to end customers .
- B2B License – 100 USD/month
This license allows you to resell products to other retailers or shops .
Without this B2B license, selling to other shops is not permitted.
Do I need an additional license for each additional shop I supply?
No.
With the B2B license (100 USD/month) you are entitled to supply any number of other shops .
A separate B2B license is required for each retailer who supplies other retailers – but not for each shop supplied .
Technology & Printers
Do I need prior technical knowledge?
No.
The A1 Mini is a true plug-and-play solution and easier to set up than many normal paper printers.
The printer takes over many steps automatically, explains each process on the screen, and guides you through the first steps.
Most users successfully print their first part within just a few minutes.
Which 3D printer do I really need?
For beginners, we recommend the Bambu Lab A1 Mini .
It is reliable, very quick to set up, and offers the best print quality in its class for its price.
For most shops and retailers, this printer is perfectly adequate.
How difficult is it to set up the A1 Mini?
The setup is very easy. The printer comes largely pre-assembled and guides you step-by-step through the initial setup.
You unpack it, insert the print bed, load the filament and start the automatic calibration.
The A1 Mini is fully ready for use after about 10 minutes .
Can I use other printers as well?
Yes. You can basically use any FDM printer that can process PETG. For all models, you also receive the STL files, allowing you to adjust the slicing settings yourself.
Please note, however, that the pre-configured print profiles are optimized for the A1 Mini. Print quality may vary on other devices, and you may need to experiment with your own settings to achieve comparable results.
What are the benefits of the AMS and do I need it?
The AMS (Automatic Material System) enables automatic filament changes, multi-color printing, and generally less manual intervention during printing. However, it's not strictly necessary.
It is especially worthwhile if you want to change the color regularly, don't have time to change the filament manually, or generally prefer more convenience and automation.
The basic model of the A1 Mini is perfectly adequate for standard prints in one or two colors.
How quickly can the A1 Mini print a typical spare part?
This depends on the model, but as a guideline: Small parts usually take about 20 to 40 minutes, medium-sized parts about 45 to 90 minutes, and larger components about 1.5 to 3 hours.
Thanks to the high printing speed of the A1 Mini, you can easily produce between 10 and 20 parts per day, depending on the size of the products.
Questions about materials
Which filament should I buy?
For most products, we recommend PETG HF from Bambu Lab . This material is stable, heat-resistant, durable, and perfectly suited for grow environments.
By default, black plus one other color of your choice is sufficient.
Optionally, you can also use TPU 95A HF in white , which provides noise reduction or damping properties for certain products.
Why do you recommend PETG instead of PLA?
PLA is very easy to print, but sensitive to heat and humidity. In growing environments, PLA can warp or break.
PETG, on the other hand, is more stable, flexible, UV and heat resistant, and therefore significantly more reliable in daily use.
When should I use TPU?
TPU is used only in certain products that require a flexible, vibration-damping, or noise-dampening component. The files are always marked with TPU. Typical applications include insulating mats for fan mounts or flexible insulating rings that reduce noise.
TPU is also suitable for parts that need to cushion movement or remain slightly flexible. For most products, TPU is optional, but it's a useful addition if you want to make certain components particularly quiet or vibration-free.
How many colors do I need to start with?
To get started, two PETG colors are perfectly sufficient: black as the standard for most products and another color according to personal taste or to match your shop branding.
More colors are always possible, but not necessary to get started. If you use an AMS, you can easily upgrade to multicolor printing later.
Complete beginner?
I've never printed before, is this still something for me?
Yes. The licensing model is explicitly suitable for complete beginners. The A1 Mini is a plug-and-play printer that automates many steps and is much easier to use than many expect. With the pre-configured print files, you can get started right away, without any technical knowledge.
How long will it take until I can successfully print the first part?
Usually only a few minutes. Setting up the A1 Mini takes about ten minutes, after which you can immediately start playing your first file. Thanks to the pre-configured profiles, you don't need to make any custom settings.
What do I do if the printing fails?
No problem – print failures happen. In most cases, simply cleaning the print bed and restarting the print is enough. The pre-configured models run very reliably on the A1 Mini, and a second attempt usually works without any further adjustments.
Membership & Administration
How do I complete the membership process?
You can purchase a membership directly through the Printables Club. Simply select your desired license model and follow the payment process. You'll then receive immediate access to all licensed files and can get started right away: https://www.printables.com/@PlantTech_3345435/store?paid=club
How do I cancel my membership?
Membership can be cancelled at any time directly within the Printables Club. The cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing period. After this period, you will no longer have access to the files and will no longer be permitted to sell products.
Can I use multiple printers?
Yes. The license is not limited to a specific printer. You can use any number of A1 Minis or other compatible FDM printers, as long as the files are used exclusively within your licensed company.
Can I upgrade to a larger package later?
Yes. You can upgrade to the B2B license at any time if you want to supply other shops. The upgrade will be activated immediately, and you can start selling commercially to other retailers from that point on.
